Joel continues to support community charities

If you are looking for an organization to support that does outstanding work giving back to members of community that have disabilities then I would strongly recommend you consider the North Shore Disability Resource Centre. The North Shore Disability Resource Centre (NSDRC) provides programs and services based on the belief that all people are important to their community. They work to ensure that people with disabilities, along with their families and friends, can participate actively as members of the community. They are committed to working toward a community which is free of physical, financial and attitudinal barriers.

My involvement from this organization stemmed from assisting in finding suitable real estate where the NSDRC’s programs could be administered. In this process I became captivated with a young man Brock Metcalf who despite the fact he was born with Cerebral Palsy his life long dream was to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Well with the support of the NSDRC in conjunction with a dedicated team of climbers, fundraisers, and local families in February of 2006 Brock reached an all time high making it to the summit of Kilimanjaro, setting a new world record. With the financial support of members of the North Shore community this would not be possible.
